The following is a list of the most frequently asked questions regarding residential control and automation systems. If you have a question, please let us know by sending an e-mail to info@peaklifestyles.ca and we will be happy to provide an answer.
- What is Home Automation?
- Home Automation is the process whereby complete control of your entire home is managed by a single system. This single system interfaces with practically everything in the average home like lights, ceiling fans, home theater, security systems, heating and cooling, sprinklers, drapes, blinds, gas fireplaces and the list goes on. The purpose is to simplify and streamline the control and management of your home which is fast becoming a very complex system. Modern homes have a myriad of electronic devices and gadgets that have resulted in dozens of remotes, cables and switches. Remembering which remote controls what is a nightmare let alone learning how to even use the remote. PeakLifestyles stops the insanity by replacing all the confusion with a single, intuitive interface that allows complex tasks to be executed by the press of a single button. The best way to experience this first hand is to visit our show home for a hands-on demonstration. Contact Us to book a no obligation appointment.
- How much does it cost?
- Factors influencing the total cost of a system vary from the size of the residence to the degree of control and automation. Due to the modular nature of the system you can start with a single room and expand the system room by room as needed. You can start building your dream system for as little as $900. Adding additional rooms range from $160 per room for lighting control to $450 per room for complete control and audio.
- What is Multi-Room Audio?
- Multi-Room Audio is also referred to as Distributed Audio and is one of the many features of a PeakLifestyles system. As the name implies, multi-room audio allows a single audio source like a CD player, iPod, XM satellite radio receiver or your MP3 collection to be made available in multiple rooms or locations throughout your home. Multi-room audio is an extremely efficient and cost effective way to enjoy your prized music collection wherever you want. No longer do you need to buy stereo systems for every room and then forget which one you left your favorite CD in. Not only does this save you money but it also reduces the clutter of redundant equipment.
- I have in-ceiling speakers installed in several rooms. Can they be used with your system?
- Yes. We can easily integrate existing speakers and enhance your system by providing true multi-room audio that can be controlled by a single remote or touch screen from anywhere in your home. We do away with the need for unsightly and inefficient wall mounted controls and instead, provide complete control and access to your entire music collection with the ability to play up to 7 different selections in 7 different rooms at the same time.
